COVID RELATED FAQS

What are the guidelines for visiting the gym post travel?

If you are traveling out of state, please review the current NYS Covid Travel Advisory guidelines.

What do I do when I get to the gym?

We ask that everyone arrive 5-10min before the start of your class to scan QR Code and complete the Covid Screening Questionnaire, sanitize or wash hands, and head to your individual work station.   You will not be signing in at the front desk, but we ask you to please sign-in to class using your WODIFY APP.  Come ready to train in your workout clothing, as the shower/locker room areas are closed.

Where will I put my stuff?

Members can bring their belongings into their workout areas. There is limited shelving options to store items there, but best to keep near your individual station.

Do I have to wear a mask? I don’t like it/feel like I can’t breath etc.

Appropriate face coverings will be strictly required at all times while at the gym. There are no exceptions to this policy, if you feel like you can’t wear a mask, we ask that you consider our virtual classes instead.

Will there be chalk at the gym?

We have removed all the communal chalk buckets from the gym. You can bring your own, (some people like liquid chalk) or purchase a sealed brick of chalk in a 1 gallon zip lock bag for $2 at the front desk. You’ll write your name on the bag and it can be part of your personal kit that you bring to the gym.

Will there be showers and sweat towels?

The showers at Dean CrossFit locker rooms will be sealed off. We will not be providing sweat towels, but please feel free to bring your own.

Can my kid/partner/dog come with me?

Sorry, invisible friends only.  We are working with limited capacity and can not accommodate people who are not taking class.

Can I come early or hang out after class?

Time in the gym will be strictly limited to the training window signed up for.

Will we be sharing equipment?

All workouts will be programmed to avoid sharing equipment.  If equipment sharing can not be avoided, time will be allotted to sanitize equipment before sharing.

How/when is the equipment cleaned?

10 minutes is built into the end of each training session for members to clean their equipment. Cleaning solutions and washable towels are provided at every station. The gym is cleaned nightly, and we will be hiring a professional crew to deep cleaning once per week.

Should I come to the gym if I have preexisting conditions or consider myself a high risk population for COVID-19?

There is an inherent risk of contracting Covid in any public environment. While our safety protocols are thorough, we recommend individuals who consider themselves at high risk to not return to the gym just yet. We offer many virtual classes to keep you safe and fit from home.

What should I do if I test positive for COVID-19?

Any member who has been at the gym that tests positive for the virus should inform us via info@deancrossfit.com. We will contact the city and follow their guidance and protocol detailed above.
